DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position entails outreach and recruitment of youth and families primarily in the rural communities of Arizona to participate in Healthy Relationship Education programs. The Youth Wellness Educator will be responsible for promoting classroom based Positive Potential, Love Notes, and One Love curricula in school settings, community centers, and other locations and Summer Leadership Institutes during the summer. The facilitator will teach classes with fidelity to the curriculum and secure locations, dates and times for classes. All sessions/classes will be taught in compliance with AZYP and funder policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Youth Wellness Educator
Facilitate youth healthy relationship education using Positive Potential, Love Notes, and One Love curricula across school and community settings.
Coordinate and implement Summer Leadership Institute activities during the summer (Title V).
Prepare and deliver parent/guardian meetings prior to classroom implementation as required.
Schedule and coordinate program presentations with schools, principals, and teachers.
Promote and conduct outreach for all programming,
Submit monthly reports and updates to program supervisors for both grants.
Track participants, maintain fidelity, complete required paperwork, and ensure program goals are met for each grant.
Participate in organizational staff meetings, trainings, and program planning activities.
Support survivor-centered and trauma-informed approaches when working with youth or individuals impacted by violence (STOP-DV).
Engage community members and bystanders to increase awareness of violence against women and promote prevention strategies.
Collaboration with AZYP’s Communications and Development Director to create messaging on increasing support for survivors and increasing community knowledge about DV prevention.
Other duties as assigned or requested.

Represent AZYP at public events, as directed, to promote prevention efforts.
Participate in training as required by funder and AZYP.
Use AZYP’s core values as a guide to program activities within the community.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or advanced education with 1 year of related experience.
High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in education.
2+ years of customer service experience, preferably education.
Professional or personal experience supporting individuals with physical, mental, behavioral, and other challenging needs.
Knowledge of rural Arizona, maternal health, substance use disorder and/or public health education.
Excellent presentation, oral, written communication & computer skills; knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to pass a background check.
AZ Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and ability to travel countywide and statewide.
Automobile Insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000.
Some evening and weekend hours as needed.
