Job DetailsJob Location: Kingman Office - Kingman, AZ 86401Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $19.00 - $19.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Shift: DayPOSITION SUMMARY: The Program Coordinator (Street Outreach) provides street-based crisis intervention services, gateway services, referrals, to homeless youth on the streets and where they congregate. Supports homeless youth transition into a stable living environment.
JOB DUTIES:
The Program Coordinator will work out in the community, as well as spend time at A Hand-UP Drop-in Center to ensure a warm hand-off to other services as appropriate
Work closely with all homeless youth who voluntarily enter into any AZYP programs
Complete daily time and activity sheets. Conduct pre-entrance surveys with homeless youth and administer post–tests for youth who enter into any AZYP services or housing services
Responsible for tracking the progress of youth who have entered our programs through street outreach or through the Hand-UP Program, including following-up once they have exited the program
Teach risk reduction strategies and coping skills to youth on the streets
Conduct street outreach with other street outreach team members to ensure personal safety
Complete and submit monthly reports to Project Coordinator by the 5th of each month. Maintain statistical data as assigned
Serve as a Hand-UP Program liaison at community events
Complete mileage log as applicable for driving between sites during outreach activities
Make weekly trips/visits to bus stations, local malls, parks, community centers, and other areas where homeless youth congregate
Attend community fairs to promote awareness of agency programs and interact with homeless youth to build trust in our services
Maintain proper boundaries with clients to ensure appropriate therapeutic relationships
Complete applicable paperwork and enter data into HMIS
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills that encourage a pro-active approach
High school Diploma or GED and 2 years experience working with at-risk or homeless youth
Knowledge of rural communities
Knowledge of Runaway and Homeless Youth, Housing barriers, Positive Youth Development and Trauma-Informed Approaches
Direct service experience and experience working with, and linking youth, to clinical services
Experience providing outreach education to local and state stakeholders
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work nights/weekends as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
Fingerprint and background clearance
CPR/First Aid certification
Cell phone
Participation in orientation and training as required by AZYP
Valid Arizona Driver’s License and reliable transportation to travel throughout Mohave County (mileage stipend provided)
Auto Insurance coverage in the minimum amount of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000
