Role Overview
As the 10bet CRM & Promotions Copywriter, you will be the voice of the brand across all direct-to-consumer channels. You will craft high-converting, psychologically-driven copy for Push Notifications, SMS, Email, and In-App carousels. This is a role for a "heavy hitter" who understands the nuances of the South African punter and can translate complex betting promotions and bonus’ into irresistible, easy-to-understand calls to action.
You will also be responsible for producing clear copy for different advertising channels IE websites, print ads, OOH, Radio, TV activation fliers and press releases in addition to CRM. Your duties include researching keywords, producing relevant local written content, and ensuring accuracy and quality which reflects a global brand that has authentically immersed into a local African market.
Requirements
- Strategy-Led Copywriting: Develop and execute the verbal identity for all CRM and Marketing lifecycles (Onboarding, Retention, VIP, and Churn). Interpreting creative direction and technical information and turning them into persuasive copy concepts.
- App & Promo Optimization: Write UX-focused copy for in-app banners and promotional landing pages that simplify the betting journey.
- Behavioral Triggers: Craft "nudge" communications based on user behavior (e.g., abandoned bet slips, big wins, or upcoming high-profile matches).
- Regulatory Precision: Ensure all copy is 100% compliant with National Gambling Board (NGB) standards and provincial licensing requirements while remaining engaging.
- A/B Testing & Analysis: Work alongside the Data,CRM, CX and Marketing teams to test subject lines, CTAs, and tone of voice, iterating based on open rates and GGR (Gross Gaming Revenue) impact.
- Localization: Infuse copy with authentic South African flavor—knowing when to use local slang and when to maintain a premium, professional tone.
- The Brand voice: Writing clear and error-free content for through the line campaigns that reflects the company’s tone of voice and global authenticity with local Africa relevance.
- Stakeholder engagement: Meeting with internal stakeholders to understand their objectives and proposing copy concepts in an engaging way for internal stakeholders to gain buy in and approval for project go ahead.
Expertise & Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of specialized experience in CRM/Direct Response copywriting. Experience in iGaming, Sports Betting, or Fintech is non-negotiable.
- Platform Mastery: Deep familiarity with CRM tools and how copy renders across different devices.
- The "Punter's Brain": A deep understanding of sports (Soccer, Rugby, Cricket, Horse Racing) and betting mechanics (Odds, Handicaps, Free Bets, Cash Out).
- Psychology of Play: Expertise in using urgency, social proof, and loss aversion ethically and effectively.
- Portfolio: A proven track record of campaigns that moved the needle on KPIs like Monthly Active Users (MAU) and Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).
