We are looking for a
Director, Market and Industrial Intelligence (m/f/d)
to join our Commercial department at Advario in Singapore, starting as soon as possible.
Summary:
The Market & Industrial Intelligence Director will support the Commercial Director and play a pivotal role in shaping business growth through rigorous market intelligence, strategic analysis, and execution of high-impact commercial and business development projects. This role combines deep market insight with strategic delivery, including initiatives that strengthen commercial positioning, unlock new business opportunities, and foster partnerships with both industry and government stakeholders.
Beyond market intelligence, this position will lead and support strategic delivery projects focused on commercial growth, new business opportunities, and strategic partnerships. Working cross-functionally with stakeholders across the organization, you will influence decisions, support business planning, and deliver initiatives that strengthen the company’s competitive position and customer-centric approach.
This dual focus requires strong analytical capability, commercial acumen, project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
Your Tasks:
1) Market Intelligence & Strategic Analysis
Monitor oil, chemicals, and gases markets, including product shifts, competitor activities, regulatory developments, and trends; communicate insights to relevant stakeholders.
Identify market opportunities and key trends through research and analysis, connecting the dots between market data and strategic recommendations.
Support global market intelligence activities and contribute to the internal intelligence network with other global resources.
Produce concise strategic briefs, market outlooks, and scenario analyses for senior leadership and commercial teams.
Prepare reports and dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
Respond to ad-hoc internal requests on markets/products, prioritizing and delivering within agreed timelines.
2) Sales and Customer Engagment
Prospect and qualify new customers in collaboration with Commercial Director and Sales Managers.
Participate in customer meetings, prepare proposals, and support contract negotiations using data-driven insights.
Maintain and update CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) with accurate pipeline and forecasting information.
Translate strategic and market insights into compelling customer-facing talking points and value propositions.
Support renewals and growth with existing clients through timely, solution-oriented engagement.
3) Cross-Functional Commercial Support
Act as a trusted advisor by providing data-driven insights and recommendations to guide commercial decisions.
Build strong relationships across departments to ensure alignment and successful execution of initiatives.
Job Profile:
Possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field from a reputable university
Have more than 10 years of experience in consulting, strategy, market intelligence, or commercial/business development roles, ideally in the petrochemical, petroleum, or energy sectors
Proven experience engaging with government agencies, regulatory bodies, or development authorities, with strong understanding of policy frameworks and investment facilitation
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex market, regulatory, and competitive data.
Strong commercial acumen and project management capabilities, including planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and manage diverse stakeholders, including senior government and industry representatives.
Ability to perform under pressure, take responsibility for decisions, and drive execution across both strategic and operational initiatives.
