We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Community Cricket Operations to join our Premier and Community Cricket team to lead the statewide system that supports associations, clubs, umpires, coaches and volunteers. Working closely with the Customer Experience team, the role delivers community-focused operational programs including umpire development, coach education, volunteer support, safeguarding and essential administration.
💪 The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership of the Community Cricket Operations function, delivering a unified statewide system that supports associations, clubs, umpires, coaches and volunteers across Victoria.
- Lead umpire development through oversight of the State Umpiring Specialist and Umpire Coaches, driving both high-performance and community development frameworks.
- Strengthen coach development pathways, increasing accessibility and progression opportunities, particularly for women and young people entering coaching roles.
- Oversee the effective utilisation and continuous improvement of digital platforms including OfficialsHQ, CA LMS, PlayHQ and e-scoring to enhance servicing, capability development and operational efficiency.
- Ensure strong governance, integrity and safeguarding practices are embedded across all community cricket operations, providing clear guidance and compliance support to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with peak bodies (VSDCA, VCCL, VMCU), VCAUSA, local government, Cricket Australia and internal CV departments to drive alignment and shared outcomes.
🎯 About You
Essential:
- Demonstrated leadership experience across community sport or similar stakeholder environments.
- Strong understanding of community cricket operations, including umpiring, coaching and club development systems.
- High-level communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver coordinated operational outcomes.
- Experience with digital systems used in sport (e.g., LMS, OfficialsHQ, PlayHQ, CRM).
- Working With Children Check (Employee).
Desirable:
- Experience managing community sport or officiating programs.
- You have a strong eye for detail and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.
- You recognise that strong relationships are fundamental to delivering sustainable outcomes.
- Familiarity with Victorian cricket structures, Premier Cricket and pathway environments.
