State Street is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Corporate Real Estate / Facilities Management professional to support Global Realty Services (GRS) operations and workplace health & safety initiatives for its Philippines operations.
This role will serve as the designated Safety Officer 2 (SO2) for State Street’s Philippines operations and will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing the workplace health and safety program from inception as part of a newly established hub office operation.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in building a safe, compliant, and operationally resilient workplace environment aligned with local regulatory requirements and State Street global standards. In addition to acting as the local safety lead, the role will support broader GRS responsibilities including facilities governance, vendor management, workplace operations, operational risk management, and employee workplace experience.
The AVP will partner closely with regional GRS leadership, Human Resources, Compliance, Security, Technology, Procurement, Legal, and outsourced service providers to ensure the successful launch and ongoing management of the Philippines workplace operations.
Key Responsibilities – Global Realty Services (GRS) & Workplace Operations
- Creating an open dialogue with all stakeholders, understanding the operating objectives and ultimately delivering efficient execution, combined with clear communication.
- Determining stakeholders’ business priorities and concerns and tailoring workplace solutions to meet those needs while balancing and achieving overall corporate-wide objectives, governance and standards.
- Influencing stakeholders to co-create agreed strategic real estate solutions.
- Support operational management of the Philippines corporate office environment and associated workplace services.
- Partner with outsourced Facilities Management providers to ensure delivery of workplace services in accordance with agreed service levels and operational standards.
- Support office mobilization activities associated with the launch of the Philippines operations, including workplace readiness, vendor coordination, operational setup, and governance processes.
- Assist with occupancy planning, workplace utilization, and operational reporting activities.
- Monitor facilities operational performance, workplace issues, and service delivery metrics.
- Support management of operational budgets, vendor contracts, and facilities-related procurement activities.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across workplace operations.
Key Responsibilities – Workplace Health & Safety
- Serve as the designated Safety Officer 2 (SO2) for State Street’s Philippines operations in accordance with Philippines Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) requirements.
- Establish and manage the workplace Health & Safety program for the Philippines office from inception.
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety policies, procedures, standards, and governance frameworks aligned with local regulations and State Street global standards.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable Philippines occupational health, workplace safety, fire safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead safety risk assessments, workplace inspections, hazard identification, and incident management processes.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness, evacuation planning, crisis response, and business continuity activities.
- Manage relationships with landlords, building management teams, regulatory authorities, and external consultants relating to workplace safety matters.
- Maintain all required regulatory documentation, safety reporting, committee governance, and audit records.
- Deliver safety training, awareness initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
- Support workplace wellness and occupational health initiatives where appropriate.
Vendor, Risk & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with external vendors including Landlords/Managed Office providers, Facilities Management providers, project managers, consultants, and workplace service providers.
- Coordinate governance meetings, reporting, and vendor performance reviews.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across GRS, Human Resources, Security, Compliance, Technology, and business leadership teams.
- Support regional operational risk and workplace governance initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Must possess accredited Safety Officer 2 (SO2) certification in accordance with Philippines DOLE requirements.
- Completion of the mandatory 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training accredited by DOLE.
- Strong understanding of Philippines occupational health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Minimum 6–10 years of experience in Corporate Real Estate, Facilities Management, Workplace Operations, or Environmental Health & Safety within a multinational organization.
- Experience establishing or mobilizing workplace operations, safety programs, or new office environments preferred.
- Experience within financial services, banking, BPO, technology, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
- Additional certifications such as COSH, NEBOSH, IOSH, IFMA, FMP, or related workplace/facilities certifications are advantageous.
- Experience managing outsourced Facilities Management vendors and regional stakeholders.
- Familiarity with operational resilience and business continuity frameworks.
- Experience supporting regional APAC office portfolios preferred.
