11The Role: Senior Product Manager – Platts Cross-Commodity News & Market Data and Risk
The Team: The Platts Product Management organization within S&P Global Energy is a global, customer-centric team that drives product strategy and innovation for diverse, high-earning products across our global News, Market Data, and Risk portfolios. As a member of the team, you will play a substantial role in building and maintaining the product solutions for our cross-commodity information offerings across the various customer-facing delivery mechanisms, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in technology, commercial, content, and marketing to deliver integrated solutions that solve customer problems. We value strategic thinking, customer partnership, and translating market insights into actionable roadmaps that deliver value and drive measurable customer impact through adoption, retention, and growth.
Responsibilities
You are responsible for developing and executing on product strategies, ultimately driving revenue by meeting the needs of current clients, displacing competitors, penetrating new markets, solving new problems, or selling to new client bases.
Own and execute product roadmaps for cross-commodity News, Market Data, and Risk solutions, presenting strategic plans and product enhancements to senior leadership and advocating for development resources
Drive AI and structured data initiatives to develop innovative solutions that enhance customer workflows and deliver measurable value across the portfolio
Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to understand market needs and customer workflows, gather insights, and translate requirements into actionable product priorities and customer solutions
Manage product development lifecycle across digital and machine delivery solutions by creating and prioritizing backlogs based on customer demand and ROI, and close partnership with technology teams to ensure project scope, requirements, and delivery, while maximizing team productivity
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for product launches and enhancements and develop value propositions and product positioning, working closely with commercial teams to drive adoption, retention, and revenue growth
Analyze performance metrics and customer feedback to optimize product offerings, measure success against KPIs, gain senior leadership buy-in, and inform strategic decisions
What we’re looking for:
Being held accountable for execution, tangible deliverables and measurable success are common in your past. You can demonstrate experience of successful delivery – within scope, on time, and in budget.
Proven years of product management or product owner experience, preferably at a commodity information, financial, technology, or data organization
Proven track record of developing and executing product roadmaps with demonstrated ability to deliver projects within scope, on time, and on budget
Strong customer mindset and stakeholder management skills with ability to engage directly with clients, influence without authority across cross-functional teams, and build positive partnership experiences
Excellent communication and presentation abilities with ability to articulate product strategies to senior leadership and technical teams
Strong commercial mindset with analytical skills to assess customer demand, business value, and ROI when prioritizing product initiatives and taking products from concept to reality
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and manage workload independently while collaborating across teams and time zones
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing digital product portfolios using Agile scrum methodologies or similar frameworks for iterative product development
Technical literacy with data products, real-time, digital platforms, and machine-to-machine delivery mechanisms
Experience with AI technologies and data analytics tools including AI product development, structured data initiatives, and business intelligence platforms
Experience developing product strategy and roadmaps for integrated data products and knowledge-base solutions
Enterprise mindset with experience scaling product solutions across large, complex organizations
Knowledge of commodity markets and trading workflows including understanding of supply chains, trade flows, and typical processes at global commodity trading organizations
