This Department of War enterprise data and analytics program delivers mission-critical capabilities that enable leaders across the Department to make faster, better-informed decisions using trusted data at scale. Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support the delivery, enhancement, and adoption of enterprise data and analytics products used across multiple DoD organizations.
In this role, you will work alongside government partners, engineers, and other industry teammates to translate operational and strategic requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions. You will contribute directly to product planning, execution, and continuous improvement—helping ensure capabilities are delivered efficiently, aligned to mission priorities, and positioned for sustained success.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity controls aligned with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and DoD policies.
- Support continuous monitoring operations, including analysis of logs, alerts, and system activity to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities across systems and environments.
- Analyze cybersecurity data to detect anomalies, threats, and potential incidents.
- Support integration of cybersecurity controls into DevSecOps pipelines and system development lifecycle processes .
- Collaborate with system engineers, developers, and operations teams to ensure secure system design and implementation.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and resolution of cybersecurity events.
- Assist in development and maintenance of cybersecurity documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure systems comply with applicable cybersecurity standards, audits, and inspections.
- Support implementation of Zero Trust architecture principles across system components.
- Provide reporting and analysis to support risk-based decision making by Government stakeholders.
- Participate in SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Assurance, Engineering, or related technical discipline and 8–12 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in a related field and 6–10 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related field.
- At least one of the following foundational qualification pathways consistent with DoD 8140 requirements:
- Current DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification appropriate for Intermediate Cyber Defense Analyst roles (e.g., CySA+, Security+, CASP+, or equivalent),
- Offerings listed in the DoD 8140 Training Repository,
- Demonstrated equivalent training and experience qualifying under DoD 8140 foundational qualification alternatives.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity engineering, monitoring, or defense operations in DoD or Federal environments.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g., ACAS, Tenable, or similar) and log analysis tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK).
- Experience analyzing threats, vulnerabilities, and system security posture.
- Experience applying NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience operating within SAFe or Agile frameworks supporting enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with NIST security controls, IdAM services, continuous monitoring, cross-domain security services, and Zero Trust compliance.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing FOSS, COTS, and GOTS security tools.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining cybersecurity artifacts and Body-of-Evidence (BOE) required to support the DoD RMF process.
- Experience in developing and sustaining secure development, deployment, and operational practices.
- Experience in managing security incidents, conducting vulnerability analysis, and enforcing security policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting cybersecurity operations across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS environments.
- Experience implementing Zero Trust architecture and continuous monitoring solutions.
- Experience supporting DevSecOps-integrated cybersecurity practices.
- Experience supporting enterprise data, AI/ML, or cloud platform cybersecurity initiatives.
- Relevant advanced cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, or equivalent).
- Experience implementing enterprise-scale Zero Trust Architecture.
- Experience with automated compliance, configuration management, and continuous monitoring solutions.
- Experience supporting advanced threat detection, security analytics, or SIEM/SOAR integration.
- Experience supporting secure enterprise data, analytics, or AI platforms in multi-enclave environments.
- Experience with cloud-based environments and DevSecOps practices.
- Familiarity with AI/ML model serving and integration.
- Experience in site reliability engineering and defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level objectives (SLOs).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
