Position Description:
The Sr Director of Finance and Procurement will have operational and functional responsibility for a team across Finance and Procurement. The role will be required to staff the team and develop the overall operational execution for each role and function.
This job has primary responsibility for broad financial support of all planning, forecasting, and actual reporting activities. In addition, the role oversees the procurement and sourcing agenda for the new site, including sourcing and managing all new suppliers required for a new site.
The Sr Director will get exposure to cross-functional leadership and people development, network strategy, operational excellence, materials planning, contract negotiation, and capital management.
The Sr Director will also engage on control and financial reporting topics, including establishing and executing on key control matrix (SOX and operational), supporting statutory reporting requirements in partnership with the local control group, providing support to internal and external audits, performing financial reporting and executing accounting processes, and establishing any necessary local financial and procurement policies and procedures.
The Sr Director will also work with tax and treasury to establish and implement transfer price strategy, cost accounting, and funding strategy, among other items.
This position is also a core member of the site Lead Team, tasked with the responsibility for staffing, starting up, and running a new plant site.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Organization & Leadership
• Staff, lead, and develop a diverse, high-performing organization, including capability building and succession planning
• Serve as an active member of site and network finance lead teams, providing financial and business perspective across decisions
• Promote site goals (Safety, People, Quality, Service, Stewardship) and model vital behaviors (prioritization, continuous improvement, 80/20)
• Contribute to Lean rollout and overall operational excellence
Site Startup & Operational Readiness
• Ensure financial and procurement readiness for site startup, validation (PV), and launch
• Integrate with global processes and systems (e.g., SAP) to enable operational readiness
• Develop and implement local financial, procurement, and CCI processes aligned with global standards
• Ensure supply chain and financial alignment to support uninterrupted operations and launches
Financial Stewardship & Performance Management
• Lead site strategic planning, business planning, forecasting, and performance management processes
• Provide insights and analytics (site metrics, forecasts) to drive decision-making and business literacy
• Ensure timely and accurate accounting (capex, expenses, absorption, variances, costing, inventory valuation) and continuous process improvement
• Drive capital governance discipline and financial oversight across site operations
Procurement & Material Strategy
• Lead procurement operations to ensure reliable supply of materials while optimizing cost and working capital
• Manage procurement negotiations, contracts, and audits in coordination with central teams
• Identify and execute cost savings and sourcing strategies (alternate suppliers/materials)
• Build and manage external partnerships with key suppliers and stakeholder
Controls, Compliance & Risk Management
• Establish and maintain strong financial (SOX) and operational controls, ensuring audit and inspection readiness
• Provide financial governance and oversight on policies, procedures, and controls across MQ operations
• Lead risk management, including supplier risk, business continuity planning, and mitigation strategies
Governance, Systems & Transformation
• Establish governance, operating cadence, and KPI dashboards to drive performance and accountability
• Advance digital and process improvements (e.g., SAP optimization, analytics)
• Support execution of transfer pricing, intercompany flows, and funding strategies
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure a safe work environment and full alignment with HSE corporate and site goals
