The role:
As a Data Governance & Quality Analyst, you will help drive our goals by:
Enabling and operationalising our Data Governance model through Microsoft Purview, including cataloguing, metadata management, lineage, information protection, and retention.
Developing and maintaining business glossaries, critical data elements, standards, and definitions to ensure consistency, quality, and clear data ownership across the organisation.
Building, configuring, and curating the enterprise metadata model to improve data discovery, classification, lineage, and overall user adoption.
Supporting the design and rollout of archiving and retention solutions, defining what data to retain, archive, or dispose of, in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
Driving data quality and governance best practices by embedding stewardship, ownership, and consistent processes across business and technical teams.
Partnering with stakeholders, including Data Owners, Data Product Owners, and Stewards, to provide training, guidance, and ongoing support on governance tools, processes, and standards.
Contributing to continuous improvement by leveraging AI-enabled capabilities and working with internal teams, partners, and vendors to enhance governance tooling, processes, and overall data management maturity.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
Experience in data governance, with strong knowledge of data quality, lineage and data cataloguing, alongside a genuine interest in this field.
Experience working with governance tools, with Microsoft Purview as a plus.
Experience with data ownership, as well as retention and archiving concepts and solutions, is desirable.
Interest in AI-driven data governance capabilities; experience using AI to support analysis and documentation is desirable.
Strong communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
Analytical and critical thinking, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
A collaborative approach and team-oriented mindset.
Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
