Communications Training Camp Assistant

Position Description As an extension of the communications department, the communications training camp assistant serves as a liaison between media and staff, while also supporting all practice operations in a professional manner.
Essential Functions • Assist with media credentialing process, including staffing the credential pickup area for all practices • Gather and transcribe player/coach media sessions (Transcription experience is strongly preferred) • Help communications staff with post-practice media availability sessions • Set up and breakdown the press conference area before and after practice • Assist media with questions or requests • Assist with various projects and assignments as needed
Skills & Abilities • Prior experience and proficiency in transcribing recordings is strongly preferred. Selected candidates will be asked to complete a timed transcription test. • Ability to assist in training camp media set-up and breakdown, which may require frequent lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds • Ability to work well under pressure • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to collaborate and work well with others • A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment • Extremely detail-oriented with an exceptional eye for quality and precision • Flexible and capable in the ability to lead and be led • High level of respect and professionalism in the presence of NFL personnel and the media • Must be available to all Buccaneers practices at AdventHealth Training Center and work extended hours, including weekends
Experience & Education • Prior experience transcribing audio recordings • High school diploma or equivalent; • Prior experience working or volunteering in collegiate, professional or minor league Sports Information or Athletic Departments
Technical Knowledge Proficient with computers and standard office software Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or comparable tools Ability to manage digital files, databases, and shared drives effectively Skilled in preparing reports, spreadsheets, and presentations Comfortable learning and navigating new systems or applications
Work Environment • The Buccaneers are a professional, fast-paced, creative business environment. • Extended evening and weekend work hours are sometimes required. Required to work all home and some away games (some travel expected). May have to work occasional holidays. • High intensity work environment in executing deliverables on short deadlines. • Computers and desk work a significant part of daily activities.
Physical Fitness Standards Must be able to perform occasional physical tasks, which may include working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat
