Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary interface for customer quality matters, representing the voice of the customer within the organization. Lead the resolution of customer complaints and monitor critical quality performance indicators, including PPM, to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Root Cause Analysis and Problem Resolution: Drive systematic problem-solving initiatives using structured methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone Analysis, and Why-Why Analysis to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions for seating-related defects, including trim concerns, mechanism failures, and structural issues. Contribute to warranty cost reduction through robust containment and permanent corrective measures.
- Quality Planning and Product Launch Support: Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities during new product introduction (NPI) to ensure quality requirements are effectively defined, validated, and embedded prior to serial production.
- Audit and Compliance Management: Support OEM customer audits and ensure quality documentation is maintained in compliance with applicable automotive quality management standards, including IATF 16949.
- Manufacturing Quality and Continuous Improvement: Oversee in-process and final product inspections related to fit and finish, foam density, stitching quality, and product functionality. Lead the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to strengthen process control, improve product quality, and reduce defects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of automotive seating systems, including frames, foam, trim/fabric materials, plastic mechanisms, and seat assembly processes.
- Quality Systems and Tools: Proficiency in core quality tools and methodologies, including SPC, FMEA, and the 7 QC Tools, with demonstrated capability in data-driven problem solving and process improvement.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage customer concerns professionally and build effective cross-functional relationships.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in automotive or manufacturing quality, preferably within seating systems or a related product environment.
