What You’ll Do
Deliver High-quality Data Center Infrastructure
Install, maintain, service, and decommission structured cabling systems including copper, fiber, and other low voltage technologies.
Build and remove racks, cabinets, cable trays, and pathway systems inside active data center environments.
Interpret and follow design drawings, specifications, and manufacturer standards to ensure precise and compliant installations.
Champion Safety & Quality
Follow all Company and customer safety policies to maintain an Accident-Free Everyday environment.
Maintain an organized, hazard free workspace while upholding industry best practices in quality and craftsmanship.
Comply with all customer site rules related to security, access, quality, and safety.
Grow Technical Skills in a Fast-moving Environment
Assist and learn from senior technicians in structured cabling installation, testing, and commissioning.
Gain hands-on experience with fiber systems, labeling standards, routing, and testing tools.
Develop strong organizational habits with materials, tools, and cable management for best practices.
Be a Dependable & Positive Team Contributor
Work effectively in changing environments with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Support varied schedules including days, nights, or weekends as required.

What You Bring
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
2–3 years of telecom/structured cabling experience (data center experience preferred).
OSHA10 preferred (must obtain within 90 days).
CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days.
FOA or BICSI certifications are a strong plus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role is highly hands-on and physically active.
You will work primarily indoors in data centers but may occasionally support tasks outdoors. The environment is generally moderate in noise but may include active construction areas at times.
To perform effectively, you must be able to:
Stand and walk frequently throughout the day.
Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, and use your hands regularly.
Lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 25 lbs frequently.
Work in tight or confined spaces when required.
Work from heights, including ladders or lifts, with proper safety equipment.
Communicate clearly with team members and hear instructions in active environments.

Work Location & Travel
Onsite daily at assigned customer or data center locations.
Minimal overnight travel (≈5%), though flexibility to travel when needed by Black Box is important.
Required Tool Set
Bring your own basic tools, including:
Wire stripper/crimper, cutting pliers, needlenose pliers, torpedo level, tape measure, adjustable wrench, utility knife, electrician’s scissors, socket and wrench sets, screwdrivers, hammer, flashlight, and tool belt/pouch.
