Key Activities & Responsibilities
§Provide direction and leadership towards the achievement of GSSC mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives by ensuring strategic oversight of the Procurement excellence CoE.§Lead the execution of strategic plans for functional steering of the OpCos and revenue generation, by ensuring accurate implementation of best-in-class digital initiatives, process improvements opportunities and setting up of a robust governance framework §As a custodian of MTN Yello book (Global Sourcing and Supply Chain Policy), ensure periodic updates are made to the Policy in line with the best procurement practices and manage its implementation across MTN Group functions and Opcos §Lead the drive toward standardization of policies, guidelines and system/manual templates relating to GSSC across the MTN Opcos§Partner with OpCos ExCo for leading projects to drive Procurement functional and Operational excellence within MTN’s businesses by executing best in class processes and practices for Procurement§Oversee internal and external benchmarking of GSSC operations, comparing procurement practices focusing on costs, quality, operating processes, governance controls, pricing terms and other metrics to help enhance the effectiveness & efficiencies in the current GSSC operations§Lead the analysis for current supplier portfolio and contracts across the Domains. Review and report key metrics relating to Contract Management, Supplier Performance, SLAs, KPIs, penalties etc. of the key and critical suppliers to the senior management on periodic basis.§Continuously analyze the operations with a view to bringing about improvements and enhancements across the procurement processes and drive innovations within the sourcing and supply chain systems by identifying areas where value can be added / exploited§Lead and drive revenue assurance on existing service agreements (ISA & PSA)§Source new customers by considering opportunities. Oversee, drive & approve sales deals, marketing initiatives, & partner market deployment§Represent MTN GSSC at Procurement seminars or forums focusing on Telco best practices, digital innovation in procurement, enhancing governance , etc. and present MTN’s view on such procurement strategies and innovative practices§Lead and develop articles for leading procurement journals and consulting surveys to increase MTN’s brand visibility§Lead sprint review sessions to track & measure overall Procurement Excellence CoE performance (including corrective actions if necessary), deliver progress and provide a consolidated report to Group CPO§Manage the performance of the Procurement Excellence CoE and review performance metrics to provide leadership, guidance, role clarity, training and career development options to build and manage a high performing POD§As a Chapter leader of Supplier Performance and Contract Mgt. provide guidance and advisory support to the chapter members. Oversee the exchange of best practices among squads, building synergies and motivate squad members for upskilling and job rotation§Lead / Support the implementation of Agile Operating Model across Opcos and incorporate them with the overall GSSC Op Model§Ensure a regrettable attrition / negative attrition rate of high performers by ensuring a conducive and motivating work environment within the Procurement Excellence CoEEducation:
•Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (Supply Chain Management/ Business Finance / BSc: Computer Science Degree preferred)•Post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management and / or equivalent professional qualification (Preferred)
Experience:
•12 - 15 years relevant working experience•7 - 10 years of relevant working and senior managerial experience in the Procurement Excellence•Experience in the service management of Procurement Excellence business operations•Expert understanding of emerging telecom/ supply chain practices and trends•Experience working in a medium to large organization, managing Procurement Excellence•Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure and integrity challenges•Experience in ERP (preferably Oracle)•Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices (SCM)•Industry / Certifications (Advantageous):
•Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)•Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)•Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification
