Full-time, 2 Year Fixed-term Contract Role
Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde
We are hiring x2 enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Business Analysts who thrive at the intersection of compliance, data governance, and organisational transformation. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in our Data Resilience Program, a strategic initiative focused on strengthening our regulatory compliance, enhancing audit readiness, and improving cyber resilience across the organisation.
Working closely with stakeholders across business and technology teams, you will help drive meaningful change, uplift governance practices, and support the delivery of resilient, future-focused data capabilities. Your ability to translate these outcomes into clear, prioritised requirements, practical end-to-end processes, and business-led decisions will be central to the program's success.
This role offers the opportunity to build lasting organisational capability in data governance and compliance-driven delivery. You will help develop scalable frameworks, reusable artefacts, and best-practice approaches that can be positively leveraged across multiple systems and repositories.
About the role
Reporting to our Senior Project Manager (IT Projects), you will lead end-to-end business analysis activities that enable the Data Resilience Program's delivery. Key responsibilities include:
Define and manage requirements across multiple stakeholders (IT, privacy, security, records, and business owners).
Map current and future business processes driving sensitive data accumulation.
Establish governance workflows including ownership, stewardship, certification, and escalation pathways.
Produce remediation decision packs (retain/move/purge) with traceable rationale.
Support BAU transition through runbooks, acceptance criteria, and controls that remain effective after project closure.
Lead root cause analysis, process reviews, and current/future state process mapping.
Apply modelling and analysis tools, methods, and standards to determine stakeholder objectives and identify underlying issues.
Identify and validate functional, non-functional, and transitional requirements expressed as use cases and reports.
Collaborate with University and project stakeholders on strategy assessments, requirements specifications, and feasibility studies.
Ensure all processes and systems adhere to regulatory, compliance standards, and quality controls.
Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Work with members from other projects to ensure alignment of activities and processes across the program/portfolio.
