The Role: Software Engineer
Salary: This is a hybrid role, combining remote work with regular collaboration in our Derby office at least three days per week. (Applicants must have the right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).
Location: Up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. (Monday - Friday)

What will you be getting up to?
We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our talented and innovative Engineering team working on the Motorpoint.co.uk website.
As a member of the team, you will be responsible for streamlining and enhancing the car buying journey for our customers. User experience and performance are critical and every millisecond counts. With spikes of around half a million requests per second across the eco-system, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable writing and optimising large scale, customer facing applications.
What do we need from you?
Essential Skills:
At least 3 years commercial experience writing web applications
.NET / C#
React / Next.js
TypeScript / JavaScript
CSS / Sass
Experience of working with a cloud provider (AWS / Azure)
Experience of working with version control software (Git / Azure DevOps)
Desirable Skills:
SQL Server
Rabbit MQ
Experience of working in Agile environments
Experience of working with a CMS (Content Management System)
Experience of working with a unit testing framework
The ideal candidate will also possess:
A willingness to learn and push the boundaries of their own knowledge and the technology available
A logical approach to problem solving
The confidence to work independently and as part of a team
The ability to establish excellent working relationships with the existing IT team and across the wider business
A friendly, confident, and approachable disposition.
