The difference you will make as an Engineer
Riverside Digital and Technology embeds DevOps as a key method of its delivery approach and principles, the value that it delivers relies on maintaining a certain cadence, so the role holder will make sure that they work together with all members of their Chapter to deliver that value.
As a Salesforce developer you will focus on Apex development to deliver new functionality and enhancements to the Riverside Salesforce platform.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
• Significant demonstrable experience with Salesforce development
• Proven experience with programming with Apex, Lightning Components, and Visualforce
• Experience in creating custom objects, custom fields, picklists, page layouts, workflow, approval processes, validation rules, custom tabs, reports, Visualforce pages, dashboards, and email generation according to application requirements.
• Experience with Service Cloud and Community Cloud (primary) or Sales Cloud (secondary)

Role Profile
• Work with architects, business analysts and other developers (potentially including third parties) to translate business requirements into solution designs that best achieve the target capabilities and leverage the platform effectively.
• Provide detailed estimates of the level of effort associated to implement capabilities based on business requirements and solution design.
• Demonstrate expertise in advanced Apex programming concepts including common design patterns, governor limit management techniques, bulk patterns, efficient and reliable trigger handling, and asynchronous operations.
• Design, develop, test, document and deploy high-performance, reusable, and reliable Apex code with best practices.
• Collaborate with Test Analysts to ensure software testing standards are met and participate in the overall QA process.
• Engage in code and technical design reviews of solution implementations to ensure code quality and best practices are maintained.
• Provide application support as required including incidents and problem management, maintaining applications, databases, keeping up to date with vendor supported releases (and in-house upgrades for bespoke elements), patches and maintenance/upgrades, proactively managing performance, availability, and resilience.
• Respond flexibly to any necessary changes in work priorities and undertake other duties when required.
• Participate in an on-call rota if required.
• Ensure that all information security requirements, including data protection, are met in accordance with the Group’s policy, procedures and statutory requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
• Significant demonstrable experience with Salesforce development
• Proven experience with programming with Apex, Lightning Components, and Visualforce
• Experience in creating custom objects, custom fields, picklists, page layouts, workflow, approval processes, validation rules, custom tabs, reports, Visualforce pages, dashboards, and email generation according to application requirements.
• Experience with Service Cloud and Community Cloud (primary) or Sales Cloud (secondary)
• Experience with Integrations, SOAP, and REST API integrations
• Experience of Agile SDLC
• Knowledge of security best practices
• Experience using source control in a structured way, and in a multi-developer environment.
• An active Salesforce certification is a plus, but not essential.
• Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to give optimal solutions.
• Hands-on experience in administration setup, e.g., managing users, security controls, and data as well as creating roles, profiles, and reports.
• Excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements
