Job Description
In this role, you have the opportunity to be part of an exciting, venture-like department within Philips’ Intellectual Property & Standards organization, Camera Software Solutions, and contribute to the development of innovative video processing software applications for clinical surveillance and patient monitoring.
Your role:
- Designing and developing Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) applications
- Ensuring seamless integration of software solutions, including efficient installation, execution, and maintenance in hospital environments
- Delivering high-quality, reliable software solutions that meet clinical and technical requirements
- Developing and delivering of best-in-class solutions supporting clinical surveillance and patient monitoring
- Ensuring all solutions comply with applicable quality, regulatory, and medical standards and requirements
You're the right fit if:
- M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Physics, Software, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing computer vision software for medical applications, including experience with medical device software development processes, regulations, and standards such as IEC 62304.
- Experience with real-time networking protocols and video streaming concepts.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, C/C++, CI/CD workflows (like GitHub Actions), Docker, and software deployment across different platforms.
- Experience with automated testing, such as behavior-driven development, integration testing, and unit testing.
- Experience with AI-assisted software development, including prompt engineering and task automation with tools like Copilot, Codex, Claude, and MCP servers.
- Experience with AI/ML workflows on AWS, including SageMaker and data lakes, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Hands-on and can-do attitude, combining empirical and data-driven approaches to problem-solving, bringing care and attention to everyday work.
- An open, “demo-first-then-refine”, and agile way of working with a focus on software simplicity, compatibility, maintainability, scalability, and robustness.
- Effective communication skills in a cross-functional team, and able to demonstrate solutions to a variety of colleagues, business stakeholders, and clinical customers.
