Scope of Position
Under the direction of the Regional Partnerships Supervisor, the Partnerships Coordinator will act as trusted coordinator between local communities and the university’s colleges, medical center, research, and extension systems. This role is modeled after the OSU Extension tradition and informed by national best practices in health extension.
Position Summary
The Partnerships Coordinator serves as a bridge between the Appalachian and Rural Center for Health (ARCH) at The Ohio State University and local communities to advance community-centered health initiatives. This role emphasizes co-creation and partnership-building, connecting OSU’s academic and clinical resources with community needs while fostering trust between Ohio State and local partners. Responsibilities include integrating into the community, facilitating collaboration, maintaining open and transparent communication, and staying attuned to evolving local needs. Each agent’s role is shaped by the community they serve, requiring adaptability, inclusivity, and a commitment to meaningful, action-oriented work. Agents act as catalysts for health promotion, workforce development, and clinical transformation.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interact effectively with multiple populations. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours with a minimum of supervision. Hours could include days, evenings, and weekends. Ability to travel within and outside of Ohio required.
A bachelors degree in business, health, public administration, community engagement, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Three years of relevant experience preferred. Experience with health care delivery, program development and management, or community engagement required. Experience working in or with rural or Appalachian communities required.
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills. Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. Ability to learn new systems software. Independent and self-motivated. Project management experience required.

On-going: Attends professional continuing education to remain up to date on best practices and technological
innovations in clinical disciplines and in rural and Appalachian health.
