Summary & Purpose
The primary purpose of the Central Supply Coordinator is to provide assistance with ordering, stocking and ensuring par-levels with all supply functions as directed/instructed in accordance with established central supply related policies and procedures governing Byron Wellness communities as well with federal, state and local regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
· Organize storage, issue and delivery of supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
· Develop methods for determining quantity of supplies and equipment required.
· Assist in preparing correspondence and claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc., and return to vendor as required.
· Ensure various departments are properly charged with supplies they have received for cost allocation purposes.
· Ensure that supplies and equipment are properly maintained.
· Ensure inventory is updated as required, when receiving/issuing supplies and equipment.
· Ensure storage instructions are followed.
· Notify appropriate department when special orders have arrived.
· Meet with vendors as necessary.
· Collaborates with the nursing management to establish acceptable supply items and levels on the floors and for the supervisor’s access.
· Order, distribute and track tube feedings, supplies and equipment as ordered.
· Replace sharps boxes in tub room, med room lock boxes. Pick up filled sharps containers from med carts.
· Ensure that vendors provide appropriate material safety data sheets (SDSs) in accordance with current OSHA regulations and the facility’s policies and procedures.
· Agree not to disclose assigned user ID code and password for accessing resident/facility information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
· Agree not to disclose resident’s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
· Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility’s information system.
· Maintain supply and storage rooms in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
· Ensure defective equipment is identified for maintenance repair as required in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements
· Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or similar.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee and resident care information.
· Read, write and communicate the English language.
· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
· Must be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures, and guidelines.
· Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
· Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
