

Vermont State University (VTSU) invites applications for a Full‑Time Faculty member for its CAAHEP‑accredited Paramedic Certificate Program. This is a hybrid faculty position that will require the individual to manage a flipped-classroom educational model, teach online and in-person content, skills labs, scenarios, and simulation.
The successful candidate will also serve as the Clinical Coordinator and the VTSU Program Coordinator role. They will collaborate with the Program Director and Medical Director to review curriculum and assessments, collect and analyze data necessary for ongoing NECHE and CoAEMSP/CAAHEP accreditation, and student outcomes.
Responsibilities to include:
1. Instruction and faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses, engaging in curriculum development and program assessment, participation in faculty governance, university committees, and service activities, and engaging in scholarly and professional work. The FT Faculty member collaborates with the Program Medical Director to ensure program cognitive, psychomotor, and affective outcomes have been met.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. An unencumbered Vermont Paramedic License,
2. Associate of Science in a Health Sciences or Education field,
3. A minimum of two years of Paramedic experience,
4. Direct EMS Education experience in online and in-person settings, familiarity with Canvas, FISDAP, and JBLearning platforms is preferred,
5. NAEMSE I certification with Vermont EMS Instructor Coordinator License, or achievement within 6 months of hire,
6. Commitment to the Mission and Vision of Vermont State University and the Department of Health Sciences,
7. Commitment to the integration of technology, including simulation across the curriculum,
8. Knowledge of processes related to CoAEMSP program evaluation and CAAHEP accreditation,
9. Ability to travel to other campus sites and/or clinical and field agencies in the region.
Teaching load will average 24 credit hours or the equivalent per academic year. This position requires summer lab sessions and capstone student oversight.
Salary:
Based on qualifications and experience as defined by VSC-VSCFF Bargaining Unit Agreement; no less than $57,500 per annum plus benefits.
