Senior SAP Technical Release & DevOps Expert (S/4HANA & BTP)
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enable and drive technical Release Management for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP across program and run phases, ensuring adherence to Change & Release Management processes and GxP compliance requirements.
- Identify release risks, propose mitigation options, and ensure transparent communication of impacts and status to all relevant stakeholders.
- Drive the design, operation, and continuous improvement of the SAP DevOps and ALM toolchain, including SAP Solution Manager (Focused Build, SolDoc, Change & Release, Test Management), Cloud Transport Management/gCTS, ServiceNow, Tricentis Tosca, CloudALM, Signavio, and Celonis.
- Promote and enable automation across release, change, test, and deployment processes, including CI/CD concepts and GenAI-enabled innovation leveraging tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot.
- Act as a technical sparring partner for development teams, providing deep expertise in ABAP (OO ABAP, enhancements, transports, dependencies) and SAP Fiori/UI5 lifecycle and deployment considerations.
- Advise on release-ready architectures, transport strategies, and testability, reviewing and challenging technical solutions with a focus on operability, releasability and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement through post-release reviews, lessons learned, and measurable quality and automation improvements.
- Collaborate closely with Release Managers, System Owners, Release/Test Engineers, and external IT Operations partners including Rise with SAP.
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in SAP Release Management, DevOps, or Technical Delivery, ideally in a regulated (GxP) environment.
- Strong hands-on background in ABAP development and solid understanding of SAP Fiori/UI5 lifecycles.
- Proven expertise in SAP Solution Manager, Cloud Transport Management, and SAP ALM/DevOps concepts.
- Practical experience with CI/CD, test automation (e.g. Tricentis Tosca), and release automation.
- Solid understanding of ITIL, Agile/SAFe, and quality frameworks (e.g. ISTQB).
- Comfortable using AI-powered tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) as part of your daily workflow.
- Confident communicator and effective expert advisor across development, QA, operations, and partners; experience in international or cross-cultural teams is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English (required). Portuguese is an additional advantage.
