Regional Medical Advisor

Your new role

As Regional Medical Advisor, you'll be at the forefront of scientific exchange, bridging the gap between innovation and clinical implementation. You'll work independently in the field, building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders while translating complex science into meaningful patient outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Executing the Field Medical Strategy effectively by translating strategic priorities into impactful, stakeholder-relevant activities.
• Leading high-quality scientific exchange with relevant stakeholders, ensuring appropriate patient access to innovative treatments.
• Continuously strengthening the scientific narrative, ensuring consistency, clarity, and relevance in all external engagements.
• Identifying, building and maintaining strong collaborations and relationships with current and future KOLs and other relevant stakeholders.
• Acting as a trusted scientific expert in the field, providing in-depth medical insights and translating science into clinical practice.
• Identifying unmet medical needs and evidence gaps, proactively feeding these insights into the development of Field Medical strategy.
• Collaborating cross-functionally (e.g. Sales, Clinical Operations, Medical Education, Marketing, Market Access) to ensure aligned and impactful execution in the field.

Medical Affairs sits within the Medical & Regulatory department and is responsible for the medical and scientific dialogue supporting the appropriate use of innovative treatments, including Novo Nordisk products. Medical Affairs ensures that our activities are undertaken in an ethical and appropriately scientific manner, thereby safeguarding the trust and respect of healthcare professionals and patients. You'll become part of an engaging and dedicated team that strives for excellence, sharing the same passion and commitment in the journey of improving patients' lives. In this role, you'll report to the Senior Medical Affairs Manager – Regular Care.

 

 

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for a scientifically credible professional with a true field mindset – someone who is energized by working externally and engaging stakeholders. You'll bring:

• Master's degree in Life Sciences; MD and/or PhD is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in a field-based medical role (e.g., MSL, RMA or similar) – essential.
• Ability to translate complex scientific data into relevant clinical insights and stakeholder dialogue.
• Strong motivation and commitment to working in a field-based position, with a clear affinity for external stakeholder engagement.
• Proven ability to build and maintain long-term scientific relationships with healthcare professionals and KOLs.
• Solid experience in the cardio-renal-metabolic disease area is preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in both Dutch and English.
• High level of scientific curiosity and a proactive, solution-oriented approach with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong collaborative capabilities with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional matrix.
