About The Role
This administrative role is responsible for coordinating and managing new Handmade Cigars (HMC) product development projects requested by the Research and Development department. The position also is responsible for executing assigned activities to support and fulfill requests from other departments, particularly Design to Value/Simplification, within the HMC Product and Packaging Development team. This is an on-site position.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Comply with and enforce internal procedures within the area.
- Lead the coordination of new product development projects. Act as a liaison between Marketing, Sales, Operations, Blending, and external clients regarding new product development.
- Provide support and act as a liaison between HMC Brand Managers and manufacturing facilities (STGE or third parties selected by the Marketing team for product development).
- Monitor related deliverables (samples, costs, prototypes, etc.) for assigned new product projects.
- Request and follow up on new blends and/or new sizes related to new projects.
- Be responsible for the preparation and updating of master samples for new products related to cigar boxes and packaging.
- Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of vouchers in the NP&C system, when applicable.
- Be responsible for the development and updating of packaging specifications and technical drawings, and their submission to SST and Procurement/Purchasing departments.
- Be responsible for the ongoing update of project tracking documentation.
- Provide support to the Head of HMC New Product Development in different projects related to the area, beyond new product initiatives.
- Ensure the establishment of standards for the new vitolas.
- Participate in all follow-up meetings for assigned projects.
- Coordinate the development of prototypes (both internal and external, with suppliers) for packaging materials for new products or modifications.
- Conduct and document functionality and durability testing of newly developed packaging materials.
- Perform any other tasks, as assigned by the immediate supervisor to support the effective operation of the department.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED?
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Business Administration or similar areas.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Preferably with 2 years of experience in product development roles, and knowledge in manufacturing processes.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office, especially Excell and Outlook
- Strong motivation, initiative, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational abilities and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
