Description
Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA) is offering a Graduate Technical Services Engineer position within our Engineering & Technical Services (E&TS) team, supporting Defence aviation capability within the Triton Program.
This role provides an opportunity to work across a range of engineering and technical support activities that underpin real Defence aviation operations. You’ll be exposed to disciplines such as structures, avionics, and mechanical systems, while contributing to engineering work that supports airworthiness, safety, and fleet capability.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands‑on experience applying engineering principles to real‑world Defence challenges.
What you’ll be doing
As a Graduate Technical Services Engineer, you will:
- Support the assessment of incoming technical information for applicability across the fleet
- Assist with the development of technical instructions, engineering analyses, and compliance reports
- Help investigate and resolve technical issues, including safety occurrences and technical queries
- Support the incorporation of engineering changes, including understanding impacts to configuration and risk
- Contribute to engineering outputs that support continued aircraft operations, serviceability, and compliance
- Support system safety activities, ensuring risks are identified, communicated, and managed
- Work closely with engineering leaders, maintenance teams, and operator representatives on technical matters
This role provides an opportunity to build your capability, learn from experienced engineers, and develop confidence in a real Defence engineering environment. This role will be based as per the job requisition.
Eligibility requirements:
We’re seeking motivated early-career engineers who are eager to learn in a Defence aviation environment. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Software, or a related Engineering discipline
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- An understanding of engineering fundamentals and interest in airworthiness, safety, and technical services
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work in a multi‑disciplinary engineering team
- An interest in Defence aviation and working in a regulated engineering environment
