Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with FMCSA regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Transport freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and trip documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, fleet management, and customers
- Secure cargo properly and ensure load integrity during transport
- Report maintenance concerns, incidents, or delays promptly
- Maintain professionalism at customer and shipper locations
Must-Haves
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including both day and night shifts
- Flexibility with weekly workdays and home time scheduling
- Understanding that weekly home time may not always include weekends
- Availability to work rotating schedules consisting of:
- 4–5 days on the road
- 2–3 days off
- Strong safety mindset and ability to adapt to operational needs
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum age of 21 years old
- Acceptable driving record and safety history
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong understanding of Hours of Service regulations
- Ability to operate safely in varying weather and road conditions
- Strong communication and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of CDL class A combination vehicle experience with at least 1 year of OTR driving experience
- Experience with ELD systems and trip planning
- Ability to confidently operate various mobile and tablet applications to support daily transportation and operational activities
- Strong customer service and professionalism
Work Schedule
- Over-the-road routes with weekly home time
- Flexible scheduling based on operational needs
- Day and night shift availability required
- Rotating schedules may include weekdays and weekends
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to enter and exit tractor safely
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to secure freight and perform required inspections
