AWS is looking for experienced and motivated technical managers to coach, grow, and partner with technically skilled, customer facing Solutions Architects in our field offices. If you think you have what it takes to lead the best in the industry, keep reading.
You will help develop the industry’s best cloud-based solutions designers and practitioners by enabling and coaching them on best practices, technical customer relationship management, and the technical communication skills necessary to create and present architectures of a widely varying size and complexity.
In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right, as well as able to effectively shape the customer relationship management and solution focused skills of your team. You must enjoy introducing new technology and helping colleagues and customers embrace and adopt new technology and ways of thinking about technology. You will help team members ramp up and boot strap themselves on AWS products, first party solution reference architectures and third-party solutions on AWS as well as speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills.
You will need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments such as sales, product development, human resources, marketing, and representing your team to executive management. Additionally, you must be able to recognize trends across your team and their customer base, aggregate and effectively articulate those trends and observations to the right internal stakeholders.

independently and proactively identify what needs to be done, develop execution plans, and deliver on them. We expect you to develop multi-project programs that can achieve long-term outcomes in a scalable and sustainable way.
tackle some of the most ambiguous customer requirements, skillfully navigating complex organizational landscape, and incorporating stated as well as non-stated requirements, such as industry and market trends and company's strategic objectives. We then expect you to skillfully integrate all of these objectives and come up with a recommendation that best fits all of these requirements. You will then need to present your solution to the customers ranging from deep technologists to high-level technical and business executives, helping them understand how your proposed solution helps them achieve all of their objectives, as well as various tradeoffs that may be required.
identify problems that are not evident, clearly articulate and scope them, get buy-in from all relevant stakeholders, and then drive the creation and delivery of the best possible solution, collaborating with others as necessary
be able to deeply understand customer's entire technology landscape and help them envision and realize their entire cloud journey. In doing so, we expect you to deeply understand and take into account variety of best practices, ranging from AWS cloud architecture, to industry, to global technology trends. Using this knowledge, we expect you to guide our customers on how to build and/or migrate their entire IT footprint to AWS cloud, taking into account their strategic business goals and long-term technical objectives, such datacenter footprint and composition, system lifecycle, compliance and regulatory constraints, global expansion plans, as well as security, performance, scalability, availability, operability, and cost.

independently develop and deliver keynotes at the local industry or smaller AWS conferences (such as DevDay), as well as develop and deliver breakout sessions in other large-group settings, such as AWS Summit and re:Invent conferences or large industry conferences with consistently high CSAT scores
independently develop and deliver breakout sessions at the AWS global internal events with consistently high CSAT scores
independently develop high-impact public artifacts that would be used at multiple high-profile venues (Summit or re:Invent Keynotes) or to develop a number of regular large artifacts such as as whitepapers and AWS Solutions
independently develop new reusable high-impact internal artifacts that would be adopted by AWS teams across APAC
lead a large team and represent the Korea SA function at the APAC and WW levels
manage relationships with the Leadership Team in Korea and APAC across all functions
travel internationally up to 20% of the time
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer facing resources or equivalent experience
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
- 7+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- High proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
- Familiarity with common enterprise services.
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
- AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
- Computer Science/relevant degree
