We are seeking an Internal Medicine Technician to support our Internists and hospital team by facilitating efficient patient care for animals receiving oncology services. In this role, you will assist with a variety of daily tasks while collaborating closely with all departments across the hospital.

Position Overview: The Internal Medicine Technicians assist with patient care, advanced diagnostics, procedures such as endoscopy and ultrasound, medication administration, client communication, and monitoring hospitalized patients. Internal Medicine Technicians work closely with doctors to provide compassionate, detail-oriented care for pets with chronic or specialized health concerns.
Compensation:
Credentialed Technicians: $30- $36/hr. based on experience
Non-Credentialed Technicians: $25- $31/hr. based on experience
The final compensation offer will be based on the qualified candidate’s experience and ability to make an impact coming into the role. Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with advanced diagnostic procedures and treatments
Monitor and care for hospitalized internal medicine patients
Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed
Collect and prepare laboratory samples including blood, urine, and fecal specimens
Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters
Prepare patients for ultrasounds, endoscopy, and other diagnostic imaging procedures
Monitor anesthesia and sedation during procedures when needed
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and at-home care instructions
Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment
Assist with feeding tube placement and patient nutritional support
Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate updates to veterinarians promptly
Ensure proper sanitation and organization of treatment and procedure areas
Coordinate with other departments to support comprehensive patient care
Provide compassionate handling and restraint of patients during examinations and procedures
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
3-5 years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital is required.
Strong anesthesia experience with knowledge of patient monitoring, anesthetic protocols, and recovery care
Strong client service skills with a focus on compassionate communication, client education, and delivering an exceptional client experience during all stages of patient care
Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
Preferred Qualifications:
Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
Prior experience working as a veterinary nurse in an Internal Medicine Department
