Job Title: Senior Manager - Cloud Database Administration
The Purpose of This Role
As a Senior Manager, DB Cloud Technologist, you will apply your strong Cloud experience to develop solutions in support of Fidelity’s development squads. This position involves working with an exceptionally passionate team whose job is to build platforms and solutions in support of Fidelity’s cloud journey. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in DBA and operations. Ability to drive large scale modernization work is a must. A combination of modern technology migration and cloud technologies and the ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment is required.
How your Work Impacts the Organization
As a leader, you would work towards ensuring stability, availability, compliance & maintenance of Fidelity databases, Migration of database to Cloud, handling database in cloud on RDS and Provisioned Systems, ensuring data security and compliance, Database Resilience and involved in Change Management, Incident Management & Problem Management. In conjunction to this, the role also requires managing a legacy system migration into modern technology stack. Also work closely with Product Area Lead and all partners to remove any impediments or blockers in delivery as part of people management. Will develop a team of senior database professionals which involves talent reviews, performance, compensation, goal setting, development & talent recruitment practices.

Technical / Behavioral
Expertise in providing leadership support by providing technical solutions
Handle operations and ensure stability.
Expertise in RDBMS technologies like Oracle, Postgres databases & Snowflake
Expertise in Data replication technologies such as DataGuard, GoldenGate, DMS and SCT
Solid exposure in Data Virtualization technologies like Delphix
Knowledge of Databases optimization and troubleshooting.
Data and Database migrations to suitable Data Storage (RDS, Aurora Snowflake)
Managing databases in Cloud and Provisioned systems
Managing data compliance and security in Cloud databases
Having knowledge in NoSQL databases like YugabyteDB, Cassandra and DynamoDB
Experience with cloud-computing / cloud services platforms (e.g. AWS or Azure)
Experience with building secure cloud solutions
Proficient social skills with an ability to clearly articulate to both technical and non-technical partners
Expertise in handling/migrating huge dataset
Expertise in building monitoring and alerting tools to report failure or potential performance degradation
Expertise in providing post production support for applications
Bring in efficiency on managing the systems
Incident management and resolution in situations of production outages.
Relevant certifications in public cloud services (e.g., AWS, Snowflake) is highly desirable
Solid experience in people management practices like managing talent reviews, performance, compensation, goal setting, development etc.
Experience in Agile practices like Scrum/Kanban
Getting the team future ready through upskilling
Extensive experience in supporting high-volume data in production. Deep experience with common issues related to scalability, availability, intelligent monitoring, performance, and how to design proactively to avoid them.
Ability to prioritize the work based on strategic nature, importance, and vitality.

Certifications from providers such as AWS or Snowflake
Experience in working on large scale modernisation effort and has a proven track record
Strong time management and planning skills required.

The Expertise We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or any other subject area
12+ Demonstrable experience in DBA and Cloud technology role and talent management
Location: Bangalore - EGL
Shift timings: 11:00 am - 8:00pm
