A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Inna Nechipurenko at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA. Our lab uses C. elegans and mammalian cell culture models to investigate the molecular basis of rare neurodevelopmental disorders and the roles of primary cilia in neuronal development. We are looking for a motivated and creative scientist to lead projects that combine biochemistry, molecular genetics, and cell signaling with a particular emphasis on phosphorylation-dependent regulation of protein function.JOB DESCRIPTION
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
lead a research project, report progress, and define/track project deliverables
analyze research data using appropriate statistics and software tools
prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals
present at conferences and scientific meetings
organize and maintain accurate records of research data, protocols, and reagents generated in the course of the project
QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Molecular/Cell/Developmental Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry or a related field
Strong background in protein purification and biochemical assays
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience working with C. elegans is preferred but not required
Bioinformatics skills are strongly preferred
The successful candidate would be able to independently lead a research project

COMPENSATION:
Salary: $61,000 depending on experience.
