Software Engineer - Marketing Operations
The Role
We're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Marketing Operations team. In this role, you'll be the technical driving force behind our corporate website and related digital initiatives. You'll work at the intersection of technology and marketing, building and maintaining high-performance web applications that support our global brand and drive business results.
This position offers the opportunity to work with modern web technologies, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and make a tangible impact on how thousands of customers and prospects experience Safeguard Global online.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development & Maintenance
• Own the development and ongoing maintenance of the Safeguard Global corporate website
• Build and optimize headless CMS-based frontend applications using modern frameworks
• Implement new features and functionality to support marketing initiatives and business goals
Quality & Performance Standards
• Uphold the highest standards of code quality through thorough code reviews, comprehensive testing, and analysis of automated SEO and code scan tool reports
• Maintain exceptional Core Web Vitals metrics to ensure optimal technical SEO, ADA compliance, and webpage performance
• Continuously monitor and improve site performance, accessibility, and user experience
Stakeholder Support & Collaboration
• Provide technical support to CMS users, ensuring appropriate access levels and troubleshooting issues promptly
• Partner with business stakeholders to help publish content, implement changes, and resolve website issues
• Collaborate with the team and stakeholders on strategic initiatives that enhance platform quality, deliver customer value, and drive revenue
Technical Leadership & Standards
• Regularly engage with our Engineering department to align with organization-wide infrastructure and coding standards
• Stay informed about ongoing initiatives and enterprise-level changes that may impact our web platform
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection for marketing technology stack
Team Collaboration & Agile Practices
• Be an active agile team member, contributing to our Kanban workflow and continuous improvement practices
• Promote knowledge sharing through documentation, code reviews, and pair programming
• Help ensure no single team member becomes a bottleneck by building collective ownership of all platform areas
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
• Headless CMS Expertise: Strong hands-on experience building frontend applications with headless CMS architectures
• Strapi CMS: Working knowledge of Strapi and its integration patterns
• Astro Framework: Experience with Astro for building fast, content-focused websites
• Frontend Architecture: Solid understanding of modern frontend architecture patterns and best coding practices
• JavaScript/TypeScript: Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Web Standards: Deep knowledge of SEO optimization, ADA/WCAG accessibility standards, and web performance optimization
• UI/UX Fundamentals: Common understanding of good UI/UX design principles and how they impact development decisions
Professional Skills
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently
• Collaboration: Experience working effectively in cross-functional teams and with diverse stakeholders
• Agile Mindset: Familiarity with agile methodologies and iterative development practices
Nice to Have
• Experience with marketing automation platforms and analytics tools
• Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience working in a global or distributed team environment
• Understanding of content marketing and digital marketing strategies
