Video & Security Installation Technician

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company specializing in smart home technology, media systems, networking, and integrated security solutions for luxury residential properties throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
We are seeking experienced Installation Technicians to support high-end residential projects located primarily west of Minneapolis/St. Paul. This role is ideal for someone with strong low-voltage experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work professionally in custom luxury homes.
Responsibilities
- Install and service residential security systems, surveillance cameras, and smart home technologies
- Run and terminate low-voltage cabling including Cat5/Cat6 and coax
- Install and configure residential network systems and Wi-Fi equipment
- Mount and troubleshoot cameras, access control devices, and integrated security systems
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project documentation
- Ensure clean, organized, and professional installations in occupied and new-construction homes
- Coordinate with project managers, builders, and homeowners as needed
- Test systems and provide basic customer walkthroughs upon completion
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with low-voltage, security, camera, or AV installations
- Experience working in high-end residential environments preferred
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, structured cabling, and security systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve installation issues independently
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Experience
- Residential AV or smart home integration
- Camera systems (LTS, Hikvision, Ubiquiti, etc.)
- Networking and Wi-Fi systems
- Alarm and access control systems
- Home automation platforms
