Job Description: Chiropractic Assistant Position: Chiropractic Assistant Location: Go Lightly Chiropractic Reports To: Chiropractor Employment Type: Full Time (34 - 38 hours per week depending on rotating schedule) Position Summary: The Chiropractic Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations within the chiropractic office. This individual will be responsible for patient relations, conducting new patient exams (including taking digital X-rays), managing insurance billing, answering phones, collecting payments, and supporting various administrative and clinical tasks. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner, creating a welcoming environment.
Conduct new patient exams, including taking, processing, and properly documenting digital X-rays.
Manage insurance verification, billing, and follow-up on claims to ensure timely payments.
Contact insurance companies to verify patient coverage and benefits.
Work through claims, including submitting, tracking, and addressing denied or delayed claims.
Stay current with insurance company policies and updates to identify changes in coverage, billing codes, and reimbursement processes.
Communicate insurance information effectively to patients, explaining coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
Answer incoming calls promptly, schedule appointments accurately, and manage the office calendar efficiently.
Collect payments, process transactions, issue receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.
Maintain patient records with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Accurately use the electronic health records (EHR) system to document patient information, treatment plans, and billing details.
Support the chiropractor with clinical tasks, including preparing treatment rooms, assisting during procedures, and monitoring patient comfort.
Educate patients on chiropractic procedures, treatment plans, and wellness recommendations.
Ensure the office environment is clean, organized, and conducive to patient care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare or administrative training is a plus.
Prior experience in a healthcare or chiropractic setting preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude.
Proficient in using office software, electronic health records (EHR), and digital X-ray equipment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
Certification in radiologic technology (if required by state regulations).
Working Conditions:

May require standing for extended periods, occasional lifting of equipment or supplies, and assisting patients with mobility needs.
Work Schedule Standard Hours:
Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Tuesday Rotation:
Chiropractic Assistants (CAs) will rotate shifts on Tuesdays:
Week A: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Week B: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This alternating schedule repeats weekly.
Lunch Break:
A 1-hour unpaid lunch break is included in the full-day shifts.
