Job Summary:
Responsible for Warehouse operations for the branch by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Job Description:
- Oversees and directs warehouse supervisors and warehouse personnel in the day’s
workload including runs, loading, receiving, shipments, and miscellaneous
housekeeping. - Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory.
- Foster and promote a safety-first culture by conducting MBWA and, tailgate and safety
meetings on various subjects including but limited to; near misses, MOHI, stand down
and other safety and performance topics as necessary. - Provide site leadership and role model behavior for the Warehouse personnel.
- Responsible for training, mentoring, and supervising the Warehouse personnel.
- Responsible for all reports to Operations Manager including, but not limited to; audit
reports, daily forklift maintenance report, and receiving checklist. - Audit all orders for accuracy and completion to eliminate shipping errors.
- Monitor overtime work with Operations Manager and complete audit report on
subordinate’s activities. - Check all inbound freight to ensure correct count, weight, and description.
- Checks all outbound loads and approves for shipment, as well as material received via vendors
- Overall responsibility for all common carrier shipments; must ensure that all orders are
filled and completed in time for shipments, identify, red tag, and delegate as Operations
Manager sees fit. - Ensure that all work is completed on time.
- Troubleshot problems when required.
- Work with safety on ensuring that the proper procedures are being used in the
Warehouse and conduct safety meetings as required. - Work with other departments to ensure smooth operations in meeting customer
relations needs. - Create an environment that is conducive for employees to report quality related nonconformance's and to communicate opportunities for quality improvement.
- Ensure equipment is in proper operating condition; report any repair issues to the
Maintenance Department - Coordinate all maintenance on forklift repairs.
- Observe, follow and enforce all Brenntag Pacific Policies and Procedures.
- Represent Brenntag in a professional manner.
- Attend all required training when scheduled unless absent from work.
- Comply with and enforce all Brenntag Pacific’s Safety Procedures, operating procedures, and policies pertaining to the Shipping Department.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university, and a minimum of 3 years related
work experience, or a combination of education and experience. - Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful.
- Proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office.
- Possess good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive
deadlines. - Possess good written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, including upper
management. - Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
