Directorate Overview
Authorisations, RegTech & International Supervision (ARTIS) is a new Directorate formed in July 2021 and is formed of:
- The Authorisations Division, which deals with regulatory transactions where firms apply to carry out PRA regulated activities, or make changes to the activities they undertake;
- the new RegTech, Data and Innovation Division; and
- the four divisions responsible for the supervision, as a host regulator, of the UK activities of banks, custodians and designated investment firms headquartered in over 50 overseas jurisdictions – including some of the world’s highest profile firms
Department Overview
The Authorisations function is responsible for delivering an effective Authorisations framework for the PRA, ensuring compliance with various UK statutory requirements, in accordance with the PRA's risk tolerance and decision-making framework.
We are recognised, within and outside the Bank, as the centre of excellence for Authorisations knowledge, providing mentorship and direction on all regulatory transaction issues, always ensuring high quality outputs. We effectively combine deep technical knowledge and practical implementation. We are at the forefront of developments affecting Authorisations by making judgements to arrive at decisions in partnership with Supervision and others on behalf of the PRA, and ensuring the appropriate management of critical events in a firm's lifecycle.
Job Description
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join us, with strong analytical and positive stakeholder management skills who are eager and passionate about pursuing this exciting and interesting role. The successful candidate will be pivotal in helping the Authorisations division drive forward the operational agenda within the Operations Team. The team provides central support for the Authorisations division, which we do through:
- Data analytics and business intelligence - The Operations function owns Authorisations MI and reporting frameworks and tools. We are the hub for firm and authorisation data providing access and analysis of this data for decision making and review, across the division and the wider PRA.
- Centralised operations - Owning and leading divisional frameworks such as business continuity, quality assurance and performance against the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Working with the Senior Authorisations Analyst you will:
- Own, co-ordinate and respond to requests for MI or data against agreed SLAs.
- Provide quality assurance on team outputs, both on written reports and data extraction and analysis.
- Own and lead on the development of current and new tooling and work to improve MI and reporting, which meets the needs of stakeholders and statutory obligations.
- Contribute towards the implementation and improvement of divisional operational frameworks, including business continuity planning and MoU coordination with the FCA.
- Grow and develop skills and knowledge required within the team and wider division.
- Lead risk and incident processes including assessment and reporting.
- Provide training and support to team members and wider division.

Role Requirements
Minimum Criteria
- Strong experience of data analysis and visualisation skills: Ability to analyse, present information efficiently and effectively, and draw conclusions to be able to draft commentary.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills: Ability to prioritise, plan ahead and be able to look after many tasks, often working to tight deadlines.
- Possess strong business awareness to quickly pick up the context and knowledge required.
Essential Criteria
- Experience of using Tableau or Power BI to build insightful data visualisations.
- Experience of using the Power Platform suite of tools.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, acting as a role model for Bank values of working across boundaries and transparency.
- Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal, that can be adapted to a variety of audiences and needs.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of R, Python, Git or SQL
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework of the PRA, particularly Authorisations processes.
- Experience of crafting and implementing operational frameworks e.g. reporting, resource management, quality assurance, change management.

Salary and Benefits Information
We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
Salary is circa £37,520 - £41,700. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
- Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time.
- A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
- An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
- 26 days’ annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits.
- Private medical insurance and income protection.
National Security Vetting Process
Employment in this role will be subject to the National Security Vetting clearance process (and typically can take between 6 to 12 weeks post offer) and the passing of additional Bank security checks in accordance with the Bank policy.
