The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for a full-time (Assistant Professor) clinical psychologist to provide integrated behavioral health care in the UVA Health University Medical Associates (UMA) Primary Care Clinic. Salary and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications and experience. Primary responsibilities will include providing outpatient, empirically-based psychological services (e.g., diagnostic assessment and intervention) to individuals with a wide variety of medical diagnoses and mental health concerns. Many of the patients served within UMA are vulnerable patients who have limited access to mental health care and thus integrated psychological services are integral to their overall healthcare. The integrated behavioral health care provided within UMA has resulted in decreased depression and anxiety in their patients and improvement in secondary outcomes and increased engagement in primary care and improved adherence to medical care plans. UMA is a training clinic for residents in internal medicine and provides opportunities for contributing to medical education.
