We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Local Engineer to join our team and play a key role in delivering highway-related services.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of essential infrastructure that supports our communities in the UK’s largest local authority as part of Local Engineering Team within Highways.
This team provides a frontline local link for the provision of Highway services and specific advice on most highway-related matters to local residents, Councillors, MPs, businesses, community forums/groups, emergency services, transport operators, neighbouring local authorities, developers and many other internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll do...
This role will provide service and programme assurance, ensuring controls are in place to mark progress, manage budgets, implementation of equality obligations, managing risks and to ensure services are delivered in line with Highways policies and design specifications.
About You
This role will require experience in general civil engineering but more specifically in traffic management and transportation engineering fields as well as delivering a more customer focus highway service.
As a Principal Local Engineer, you must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software for the development and design of highway improvement schemes.
A full UK driving licence is also required.
