Responsibilities:
- Based in Tokyo and be responsible for driving business development across a portfolio of high value and complex clients; likely mix of corporate and NBFI across the Japan market.
- Actively drive business outcomes and client revenues to ensure that set targets/revenue hurdles are met.
- Lead and work with Product Partners, Risk, Credit, Legal and other internal stakeholders to optimize client strategy.
- Continuously focus on deepening client relationships and on-boarding new clients in line with Banks’ responsible growth strategy.
- Grow the portfolio’s profitability through effective account management, account planning and implementation of sophisticated and complex product strategies. Provide thought leadership across products, client strategy and drive business outcome.
- Leverage off the Bank’s global capability to drive marketing across loans, loan syndication, capital markets (acquisition financing to ratings advisory), treasury, global markets solutions (FX, Rates and Commodities), global transaction solutions (cash / liquidity management, trade) and Leasing.
- Work with partners (including Investment Banking) across Bank of America globally to strengthen the client relationship at senior management level and to strive towards trusted advisor status.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in successful Corporate and / or Financial Institution’s relationship management and business development (origination and execution).
- Have demonstrated an independent, entrepreneurial mindset and results-oriented approach.
- Able to deliver under time pressure to deliver results.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in credit and marketing with good understanding of a product range that includes credit, trade, cash management, risk management and capital market products.
- Familiarity with operating environment in the Japan market.
- Confident and able to interface with and influence senior stakeholders and key decision makers of clients.
- Good negotiation skills
- A strong credit background and understanding of risk.
- Excellent analytical, sales, communication, presentation and organizational skills.
- Inclusive and flexible working style – ability to multi-task and to lead change.
- Fluency in Japanese and English is essential.
