About the role
As the Lead of Collection Data Analytics & Performance, you will play a strategic role in driving data-driven decision making across Amartha’s collection organization. You will lead the development of analytics frameworks, performance monitoring, and operational insights to improve collection effectiveness, portfolio quality, and recovery outcomes.
This role combines analytics, business strategy, and operational excellence, requiring close collaboration with Collection Operational, Lending, Risk, Product & Tech, Operation, and Data teams. You will be responsible for translating complex portfolio and collection operational data into actionable insights, while also leading initiatives to optimize collection strategies, improve team productivity, and strengthen portfolio performance at scale.
Job Description
- Lead end-to-end collection analytics and performance monitoring initiatives across portfolios and collection channels
- Develop and manage dashboards, reporting frameworks, and KPIs related to delinquency trends, roll rates, recovery performance, agent productivity, and operational efficiency
- Drive strategic analysis to identify portfolio risks, operational gaps, and opportunities to improve collection effectiveness and reduce defaults
- Partner closely with Collections, Lending, Risk, Product, and Data teams to ensure accurate data infrastructure, reporting consistency, and scalable analytics solutions
- Provide actionable recommendations to leadership teams based on data analysis, portfolio trends, and collection performance insights
- Lead automation and optimization initiatives for reporting processes using SQL, Python, and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of collection strategies, campaigns, desk collection performance, and field collection operational initiatives through data-driven experimentation and analysis
- Support forecasting, target setting, capacity planning, and strategic business reviews related to collection operations and portfolio health
- Build and maintain strong governance on collection data quality, reporting accuracy, and performance tracking standards.
- Mentor and guide analysts or team members while fostering a strong analytical and performance-driven culture within the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics, or related fields
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in data analytics, MIS, business intelligence, or performance management within collections, lending, fintech, banking, or financial services industries
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets (advanced), and visualization/analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python
- Strong understanding of collections operations, portfolio management, delinquency metrics, and lending business processes
- Proven experience translating complex data into strategic insights and business recommendations
- Experience working cross-functionally with business, operations, risk, and data teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, including experience presenting insights to senior leadership
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and attention to detail
- Experience leading projects, mentoring team members, or managing analytical initiatives is highly preferred
- Familiarity with predictive analytics, segmentation modeling, or operational optimization initiatives is a plus
