Description
Senior Learning & Development Specialist
Location: Trivandrum, Chennai, or Kochi, India Entity: UST HealthProof Reports to: Global People Team
About the Company
Following the merger of HealthEdge and UST HealthProof, we are one combined organization delivering healthcare technology and services that help health plans operate more efficiently, innovate faster, and deliver better member outcomes. Together, we bring modern SaaS platforms and deep global delivery expertise, supported by a growing, global workforce.
The Role
The chief purpose of the Learning and Development function is to bring out the best of every person and the best of every team, so we can deliver the best to our customers. The Senior Learning & Development Specialist is an experienced, consultative practitioner who goes beyond program execution to lead complex design initiatives, mentor junior team members, and serve as a subject matter expert across key L&D domains.
Where the L&D Specialist supports and contributes to learning solutions, the Senior Specialist independently owns them — from needs analysis through evaluation — and brings a heightened level of stakeholder engagement, design sophistication, and data fluency. This role is ideal for a seasoned L&D professional who wants to deepen their craft and expand their organizational impact without moving into people management.
This role offers global exposure, collaboration across regions, and the opportunity to help shape learning strategy during a period of meaningful growth and post-merger integration — within a culture that values continuous learning, inclusion, and innovation.
What You Will Do
You will actively participate in projects focused on aligning learning and development solutions with business priorities. Responsibilities may include:
Development and Delivery
- Independently lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-quality learning solutions for a distributed, global workforce — from initial discovery through program launch.
- Conduct thorough needs analyses with business stakeholders and PBPs to identify root causes of performance gaps, distinguishing between knowledge, skill, and motivational barriers.
- Apply advanced instructional design principles and modern learning modalities — including blended learning, scenario-based design, and microlearning — to create engaging, behavior-changing experiences.
- Lead or co-facilitate complex learning programs, including leadership development, onboarding, core skills, and change enablement initiatives.
- Serve as an internal design consultant to stakeholders, recommending appropriate interventions (and sometimes advising when a learning solution is not the right answer).
- Mentor and provide design guidance to L&D Specialists, reviewing work products and sharing expertise to elevate team output.
AI-Enabled and Digital Learning
- Champion the adoption of AI-powered learning tools and digital platforms, identifying opportunities to personalize experiences and increase global reach.
- Curate and create modern learning content — microlearning, self-guided modules, and blended programs — using current authoring tools and content platforms.
- Stay ahead of emerging learning technologies and proactively recommend innovative solutions to the Manager, L&D.
- Support the team’s LMS implementation and governance efforts, contributing expertise on content architecture, learning paths, and digital learner experience.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Continuous Improvement
- Develop and administer multi-level assessments to evaluate learning impact and program effectiveness, drawing on frameworks such as Kirkpatrick or Phillips ROI.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative evaluation data to derive insights and make evidence-based recommendations for program improvement.
- Manage program tracking and reporting for assigned portfolios, including enrollments, completion rates, assessment results, and survey data.
- Oversee LMS back-end management for assigned programs, including course configurations, learning paths, certifications, and knowledge assessments.
Stakeholder Engagement and Project Leadership
- Manage end-to-end project timelines for multiple concurrent L&D initiatives, proactively identifying and mitigating risks or delays.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels, communicating effectively and credibly with individual contributors through senior leaders.
- Represent the L&D team in cross-functional project meetings and integration workstreams as assigned.
- Contribute to team strategy conversations, offering data-informed perspectives on learner needs, program gaps, and emerging priorities.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive L&D experience, with demonstrated growth from program support to independent design and ownership.
- Deep expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience with HR-adjacent domains including performance management, leadership development, and talent management.
- Demonstrated experience with AI-enabled learning tools, digital learning platforms, or LMS administration.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to independently own a portfolio of complex initiatives in a fast-paced, virtual environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present recommendations credibly at all levels.
- Data-driven mindset with experience measuring learning outcomes and translating findings into actionable improvement recommendations.
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or technology-enabled services organizations.
- Familiarity with learning experience platforms, learning management systems, or content curation tools.
- Experience supporting leadership development or manager enablement programs.
