Job Summary
We are seeking expressions of interest for a 12-month secondment opportunity as a Detailed Production Scheduler at the Blayney Factory.This role is responsible for developing short-term production schedules that align with available labour, manufacturing lines, and material supply. It also involves identifying opportunities to optimize the production schedule and effectively addresses all potential capacity issues in advance.
A day in the Life
- Develop short-term production schedules (CW+3) to maintain stock availability across required locations.
- Plan production capacity, including the impact of shutdowns, line extensions, and other operational changes.
- Assess labour requirements needed to deliver the production plan effectively.
- Maintain accurate scheduling Master Data and ensure system settings reflect current production conditions.
- Collaborate with Materials Replenishment Planners (MRP’s) to minimise production disruptions caused by material shortages and to protect customer service in case of shortages.
- Collaborate with Warehouse Team to ensure clear domestic and export plans.
- Identify potential capacity constraints early and contribute to solutions before they affect output.
- Co-ordinate daily and weekly planning meetings to ensure clear communication to all stakeholders.
- Support operational improvement initiatives over an 18-month horizon while balancing flexibility, efficiency, and service reliability.
- Support the Concurrent Planner (MPS) by communicating risks and proposed contingency plans.
What makes you successful
- A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in production scheduling (preferred).
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain planning, with particular strength in detailed scheduling.
- A sound understanding of Nestlé’s factory and distribution centre network.
- An understanding of how to balance customer service outcomes with cost considerations.
- Knowledge of the SAP/OMP system relevant to this role.
