Job Summary:
The Temporary Research Assistant's principal contribution is to perform routine or standardized laboratory or administrative duties and to collect routine data in support of research projects under direct supervision. Collects and enters data. The incumbent must be paid hourly and needs to complete a timecard or track hours in UC Time. The salary range for this position is $16.60 - $26.00 per hour. This assignment cannot exceed twelve months or 1,000 hours.
Responsibilities:
Assists with developing data collection tools, managing data files, and providing general administrative support.
Assists lab members in preparing and conducting experiments.
Follows established procedures and protocols, and assists the supervisor with research projects.
Conducts literature searches for the related research projects.
Organizes project-related materials in the relevant electronic database.
Carries out all the required research tasks, experiments, studies, and activities in the assigned research projects.
Attends all required working group and research meetings.
Assists the PI in all research activities and required research tasks whenever needed.
Provides technical and administrative support for a research project.
Other duties as assigned.

Basic knowledge in the relevant scientific field required.

Additional Responsibilities
Education, Experience, or Certifications:
Education:
A bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the research being conducted is preferred.
Experience:
One year of relevant research experience preferred.
