What you will do:
Perform a variety of administrative tasks including preparation of Power Point presentations, data entry and analysis, web site development, collating marketing materials and presentations.
May supervise set up of labs, either in physical sciences or computer sciences
Assist a faculty member with a research project; engage in literature searches
Configuration and management of servers used in the delivery of distance courses Assisting faculty in the development of new material for their courses.
Responsible for planning and organizing the activities of an assigned program, project, unit or function and ensuring the activities’ infrastructure is in place.
Review departmental needs and expectations and determines most effective means of execution of specific duties to ensure goals are met in a timely fashion.
Develop and schedules program work plans in accordance with specifications and funding limitation; oversees daily operations and coordinates activities of programs and determines priorities.
Partner and collaborate with various internal contacts, or customers, to coordinate activities, promote and encourage cooperation of submission or collection of information/data, products or services or process improvement.
Manage the flow of activities and acts as liaison to all others involved in the operation.
What you will need:
Be admitted to a graduate degree seeking program at GCU. (Certificate only programs do not satisfy this requirement.)
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0. (If a student is newly admitted to the University, the admission GPA is considered for this requirement.) A student must also maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during their employment.
Be enrolled in as a “regular” (not provisional) degree-seeking student for at least 6 graduate level units leading to the degree. (Undergraduate or audited courses do not satisfy this requirement.) Hiring departments may require a higher enrollment.
Because of the role as student and employee, graduate assistants assume responsibility for upholding the University’s Student Code of Conduct.
Graduate Assistants are eligible for waiver of tuition for the period employed. Waiver of tuition may be taxable income.
Graduate Assistants have restricted work hours (maximum of 29 hours per week)
