Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Summary:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools by performing the following duties:
Responsibility:
Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
Modifies programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Maintains time and production records.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Academic/Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associates or Technical School Degree or combination of work/education.
Required Skills/Experience:
At least five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing maintenance with progressive responsibilities.
Two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
Considerable knowledge of standard methods, principles, practices, tools, and equipment of the maintenance trades.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact and communicate at all levels of organization.
Considerable knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water system, HVAC and other equipment and systems of the maintenance trades.
Ability to plan and design projects, work from sketches, blueprints, and manuals.,
Considerable knowledge of the principles of mechanical equipment design and fabrication. r.
Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy. Considerable knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations and industry safety standards.
Knowledge of employment laws.
