Associate PD&A Scientist - Cranbury, NJ
Job Purpose:
This role is primarily responsible for the daily work required to formulate prototypes for customers. It is designed to provide necessary support for projects and customers.
Goals and Objectives:
- Provide innovative formulas meeting customer requirements for safe, stable and legal expectations.
- Provide support for cross functional teams.
- Ensure laboratory activities meet/exceed technical, safety and efficiency goals.
- Support commercialization activities for beverages and flavor systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Attend and implement training.
- Prepare customer demos.
- Enter and upload formulas (AS-400 & LEAD for pricing)
- Support ACM.
- Complete sensory testing.
- Completes stability testing and prepares report.
- Completes regulatory and manufacturing instruction requests.
- Conducts batching and sample preparation/shipping.
- Support ISO.
- Completes all Commercialization Activities.
- Independently develops robust formulas
Key Technical Skills and Knowledge:- BS or higher with up to 3 years experience (Food Science or related preferred) or High School Diploma or Associate Degree (with minimum of 7 years experience).
- Solid Mathematical Skills - The Individual is comfortable with basic calculations, ratio scaling, fraction proportioning, percentage calculations, along with graphing techniques, predictive modeling, etc.
- Basic Scientific Skills - The Individual is comfortable with common scientific terminology, basic chemistry terms and concepts, basic human physiology.
- Food Science Skills – The individual is comfortable with basic food science principles, including knowledge of food chemistry, lipids, carbohydrates, proteins and the principles of food processing.
- Bench Development Aptitude – Understanding of food manufacturing equipment operating procedures and desire to perform hands on development work with minimal supervision.
- Computer Skills - The Individual is comfortable with computer usage, internet access, Microsoft WORD, EXCEL and Email ( or similar program) usage, along with ability to create, edit, manipulate WORD and EXCEL files as well as basic presentation development using PowerPoint or other.
- Analytical Skills - The Individual is comfortable with basic instrument calibration, usage and reporting skills specifically but not limited to pH, Brix, spectrophotometers, TA.
- Problem Solving Skills - The Individual is capable of problem/root cause identification, alternative solution consideration and ultimate recommendation and selection of workable solution.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$55,000.00 - $86,000.00
