

The School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications as an Adjunct Instructor in Design in the Bachelor of Design program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis all year long. Candidates who meet criteria for needed courses will be contacted during planning for the summer semester.

The School invites applicants with the following qualifications:
A Master's degree, or Bachelor's degree plus teaching and/or professional practice experience in design, architecture, HCI, or a related field.
University-level teaching experience preferred.
Experience in storytelling, representation, and prototyping for interactions, including familiarity with interaction design tools and software.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Augmented reality/mixed reality interfaces, interactions, and experiences
Intelligent environments & Internet of Things artifacts
Responsive environments and interactive installations
Immersive hybrid experiences
Critical approaches to technology, design, and the built environment

A portfolio that includes 8-10 visual examples and descriptions of creative practice in personal work, professional work, and/or research relevant to the position (web link preferred).
