The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has played a vital role in shaping Ohio’s past and present and the work it does today helps chart the state’s future. The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and victims of crime, assist the criminal justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies, and enforce certain state laws. In these and other capacities, staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year.
We are currently seeking candidates to fill an HR Analyst position available in the Human Resources Section. The HR Analyst will work within the HR team to provide recruitment and employment support to nearly 30 distinct sections of the Attorney General’s Office. The successful candidate will have a passion for public service, an ability to build relationships, and an enthusiastic attitude. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The headquarter location is: 30 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH.
Duties for the HR Analyst position include, but are not limited to:
Partners with section leadership through multiple functions to deliver HR capabilities, structures, and processes
Partners with Training and Development, Payroll, and Benefits to serve employee’s needs
Builds strong relationships with section leaders
Provides ongoing support/recommendations to assigned section leaders as needed/appropriate
Coaches and develops Managers/Supervisors to become more effective
Supports, implements and sustains Human Resource strategies, programs and initiatives to attract, develop and retain the very best employees; serving as the primary recruiter for assigned sections
Partners with leaders on employee relations issues, including providing fact based, consistent feedback
Interprets and answers policy and HR-related questions consistently
Facilitates exit interviews; identifies trends and provides proactive solutions to mitigate unwanted turnover
Facilitates New Hire Orientation, providing a “wow” experience for new employees

Completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business, or public administration.
OR
Experience: 2 (two) years’ experience in human resources or comparable professional role.
