What does a Laborer do?
Performs indoor general labor duties: moves, organizes & stores all incoming & outgoing furniture & equipment, (e.g. washers, dryers, etc.)
Sets up tables, chairs & floor coverings as requested by work order
Moves records (medical, human resources, program etc.) to various areas as requested by work order
Assists with housekeeping duties (e.g. sweeps, mops, dust, wax and strip floors, cleans windows)
On a monthly basis cleans all hood filters and lights in a building. Picks up & delivers (e.g., soiled & clean laundry, boxes, residential unit supplies)
Drives hand truck, plow trucks, lift gate truck.
Operates housekeeping equipment (buffer, propane buffer, vacuums, scrubbers and wet & dry vacuums, etc.)
Assists maintenance workers on jobs as needed/requested

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division. In accordance with Section 124.11 (B)(2) of Revised Code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.
