About the Role
- Support the coordination and delivery of neighbourhood land development and construction projects in accordance with approved plans, budgets, schedules, and municipal requirements.
- Assist with tendering activities, contractor coordination, and review of project submissions and deliverables.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, municipal standards, subdivision agreements, and infrastructure requirements.
- Coordinate with builders, contractors, consultants, utility providers, and municipalities to support project progress and lot grading compliance.
- Conduct site visits and neighbourhood inspections to monitor construction progress, identify deficiencies, and support issue resolution.
- Track project schedules, costs, deficiencies, and documentation required for municipal acceptance and assumption.
- Support construction meetings, clearance documentation, and follow-up activities related to active development projects.
- Review builder plans and submissions to help ensure compliance with approved plans, agreements, and development restrictions.
- Provide responsive and professional service to builders, homeowners, contractors, municipalities, and internal stakeholders.
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures while working in active construction environments.
Experience
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited Community College or University.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Civil Engineering, land development, or construction projects. Experience in Ontario land development would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with external contractors, consultants, utility providers, municipalities, and service providers to support project progress toward defined milestones.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of project planning practices and software would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings as part of day-to-day work. The ability to amend drawings would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work in safety-sensitive construction zones, including around large machinery and heavy equipment, as required.
- Self-directed and flexible, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple detailed tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- This position is approximately 30% office/home-based and 70% on-site. Reliable transportation and a valid Ontario driver’s license in good standing are required to travel to multiple project locations throughout Southwestern Ontario.
