

JOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the Manager, Data & Analytics, the Business Advisor is an intermediate-level role, and examines and interprets organizational data to unlock valuable insights to inform strategic decision-making. The Business Advisor supports the department’s mission to enhance data-driven decision processes, identify meaningful trends, and contribute significantly to the improvement of our business operations.This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, with a minimum of three (3) years’ recent, related experience in data analysis, business analytics, or a similar role, with a preference for experience in the healthcare sector or in organizations of comparable complexity. Demonstrated ability to apply data modelling, analysis, and visualization techniques in a business context.ROLE SPECIFIC EXPERTISE:• Proven experience in data analysis, business analytics, or a similar role.• Advanced proficiency in analytical tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).• Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling, capable of applying these techniques to forecast trends and inform strategic decisions.
